Terrific Kids do Exist in Sarnia! - 12/01/2017

There are Terrific Kids all over Sarnia today!  Members of the Sarnia-Lambton Golden K Kiwanis Club attended assembies at both Cathcart Public School and P.E. McGibbon Public School this morning to help students celebrate the November division winners of the Terrific Kids program.  The focus was on Empathy and Enthusiasm at P.E. McGibbon during the month.  The winners were very surprised and one young winner was so surprised she was moved to tears!  

Club leaves Legacy of Service to Community - 09/04/2017

This past Tuesday, Sarnia Lambton Golden K dedicated their 25 year anniversary project in McGibbon Park alongside the Sarnia Lochiel Kiwanis Centre.  The project consists of a concrete pad with access from the sidewalk for persons with mobility devices.  Over the pad is an awning to protect people from the sun during a normal summer.

The dedication ceremony took place after the regular club meeting and was attended by the Mayor, members of Council and representatives from several tenants of the building.  We had the pleasure of welcoming Past Governor Hope Marks, PLG Bud Orr and his wife Jackie.  Many members of the Club were on hand to witness the dedication and share with...

Club Donates to The Boys & Girls Club - 05/28/2017

The Kiwanis Club of Sarnia-Lambton Golden K recently donated $3,000.00 to The Boys & Girls Club of Sarnia-Lambton.    Shown above (from L to R) is Dave Hains, Chair of the Club’s C-Gaming Committee presenting the cheque to Lisa Lanouette, Program Coordinator for the Boys & Girls Club.   In thanking the Golden K Club, Lisa noted the funds will be used for transportation needed to support their summer programming activities.

These funds are generated through the volunteer service of Golden K Club members in the charity gaming events hosted at Jackpot City and are donated to organizations supporting the needs of children & youth in our community.  

Club Donation in Support of The Lambton County Music Festival - 03/05/2017

The Golden K Charity Gaming committee made a recent donation in support of The Lambton County Music Festival.  Shown here receiving the donation cheque (L-R) is David Nichols, President of the Lambton County Music Festival and The Sarnia Concert Association from President Mike Shimmin and PP & C-Gaming Team member Bob Lutz.  The donation will be used to support providing recognition awards to be presented to selected participants at this year's music festival.  

1st Builders Club in Sarnia-Lambton - 12/20/2016

P.E. McGibbon Public School has partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Sarnia-Lambton Golden K in establishing a Builders Club.

Principal Ben Hazzard says it’s an international, student-led organization for grades 6 to 8 students that helps build leaders through service.

“Right now the Builders Club is hosting luncheons for seniors at our library,” says Hazzard. “It’s been a great opportunity for cross-generational learning. Certainly our students learn a lot and the seniors from various different homes enjoy talking to the young people as well.”

Golden K Legacy Fund Donation - 12/14/2016

Members of the Sarnia-Lambton Golden K Kiwanis Club celebrated the Christmas season with their annual Christmas Party held at Grace United Church on Tuesday, Dec. 13th.  Approximately 90 people, comprised of members, spouses and visitors from the Kiwanis Club of Forest and Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent enjoyed the wonderful sounds of the Ukulele Band from the Strangway Centre and enjoyed the numerous treats donated by those attending.  During the celebration, funds from the Golden K Legacy Fund, which is ministered by the Sarnia Community Foundation, were donated to the local Rebound "TAG" program for youth, which stands for Tools for Attaining Growth.  Div. 3 LG David...

Golden K Gives Back - 11/03/2016

The C-gaming committee has been working very hard lately to raise funds for our local projects that we support.  The latest donation was made to the Organization for Literacy Sarnia-Lambron during our meeting Nov. 1st.  Manager Noelle received a "big cheque" in the amount of $2000.00 from committee chair Dave Hains.  The funding will continue to support programs that benefit children in our community.

The Boys and Girls Club of Sarnia-Lambton received a donation during last Tuesday's club meeting that will be used to support their summer programs.  Congratulations were extended by C-Gaming Chair Dave Hains.

April 2nd was labelled as Kiwanis One Day but here in the north....................

It was cold..................very cold!!!  But Kiwanians still show up as promised and do the job requested!

On Saturday, April 16th a group of dedicated Kiwanis members from the Sarnia-Lambton Golden K Kiwanis

club in Sarnia, Ontario spent the morning helping with yard clean up at the London Road Public School.

This project was started in 2015 and was extremely well received not only by the students and teachers at the school but the local neighbourhood as well.  This year, neighbours got together and provided the necessary "fuel" to keep the workers working!  Coffee and goodies were...

New Members Inducted into Sarnia-Lambton Golden K Kiwanis Club
